University-wide upgrade to Microsoft Teams


All Cisco deskphones will be migrated to Microsoft Teams Calling. Please refer to the migration timeline below for more information.

  1. Starting Summer 2022: UCF IT will work with Department / IT Liasons to gather information and staff will be deployed to each campus building to confirm phone locations.
  2. Fall 2022: UCF IT Telecommunications will migrate Cisco over to Teams Calling over a designated weekend. After the migration Cisco deskphones will be replaced with an Audiocodes phone for Teams Calling.

Note: Until the university-wide upgrade is complete, please use Microsoft Teams for all chats, conversations, and audio and video meetings, including one-to-one audio and video calls. If you need to place or receive calls using a telephone number, please use Cisco deskphones.

A more detailed timeline and additional information about the upgrade will be provided to your department.

When is my department migrating?

Department Migration: All phone numbers on Cisco deskphones will be moved to Microsoft Teams Calling.

  1. Schedule Migration: UCF IT will reach out to your Department / IT Liason to advise of the scheduled change and to gather information.
  2. Visit Building Location: UCF IT will visit each building based on the schedule provided to your department to confirm location of Cisco deskphones.
  3. Move to Microsoft Teams Calling: Our support teams will move your UCF phone numbers to Microsoft Teams Calling over a designated weekend.
  4. Install and replace legacy equipment: If your department previously purchased a deskphone from UCF IT Telecommunications for Cisco, the phone will be replaced with a new desk phone that is compatible with Microsoft Teams Calling.
