Cisco SmartNet is required to maintain equipment patch updates and for replacement of defective Cisco networking hardware.
SmartNet maintenance is required to properly maintain and support critical Cisco networking equipment.
Cisco SmartNet is purchased for 8x5xNext Business Day (NBD) service. This service allows for the replacement of hardware when failures occur. In addition, SmartNet maintenance guarantees technical assistance from Cisco’s Technical Assistance Center (TAC) when networking problems arise on the Cisco hardware. Patch and code updates are provided to Cisco customers who maintain SmartNet support.
