There is no limit to what you can accomplish when you make decisions, collaborate, and create as a team. Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) brings everyone together in a shared workspace where you can collaborate in real-time by starting chats, making calls, conducting meetings, sharing files, and working with various apps—all in one location.

MS Teams is constantly improving and adding new features. The webinars below have been provided by UCF IT and provide a broad overview of MS Teams features.

WHAT IS A TEAMS CHANNEL?

Channels are dedicated sections within a team to keep conversations organized by specific topics, projects, disciplines—-whatever works for your team! Files that you share in a channel (on the Files tab) are stored in SharePoint.

whAT IS AN OFFICE 356 GROUP VS A TEAM?

When you create a team, a Microsoft 365 group is created to manage team membership. The group’s related services, such as a SharePoint site, Power BI workspace, etc. are created at the same time.

HOW DO I NAVIGATE THE TEAMS MENU BAR?

Learn more about using the Microsoft Teams Main Menu Bar on the left hand side of the UI to let you switch between the different apps available. 

SHOULD I USE ONEDRIVE OR SHAREPOINT?

With both OneDrive and SharePoint in Microsoft 365, your files are stored in the cloud. What’s the difference between OneDrive and SharePoint?

File management with Microsoft Teams (which uses a SharePoint document library) provides new options for working collaboratively.

How do I collaborate on files in teams?

Share and collaborate on a file with your team. Files uploaded and shared to a team are accessible to every member of the Team. As your team works together you’ll have files that you’ll want to share and collaborate on a file on.

How do i setup a meeting on teams?

Schedule and invite UCF and non-UCF participants to audio/video conference-based meetings or live streamed events. Teams meeting invitations synchronize automatically with Outlook calendar.
