UCF IT’s Enterprise Imaging Systems streamlines document management by providing tools for scanning, storing and viewing information through ViewStar. It improves efficiency and secures information by providing a central place to digitize and access important records.
Viewstar – Viewing Service
Description
- ViewStar provides licensed users read-only access to UCF INFOSTORE, a web-based application that enables browsing of catalogs and viewing of documents stored in ViewStar libraries.

Included Service Components
- A ViewStar License – Departments will be billed for license fees associated with each user requiring a ViewStar license.
Viewstar – Archiving Scanned Documents
Description
- ViewStar provides departments with a secure and efficient solution for document management, enabling them to scan, process, and archive files into libraries for permanent storage, and have seamless document processing within the workflow.
- Users are granted read/write access for data entry, along with the ability to review, annotate, modify, and route documents to designated worklists based on user-defined criteria.

Included Service Components
- The Enterprise Imaging Systems team gathers user business requirements and translates them into a ViewStar workflow. Their responsibilities include defining library structures, search fields, and security access, designing workflows and custom web-based applications, installing and configuring client scanners and scanning software, and providing user training and technical support.
- To safeguard data, the team implements a data backup and disaster recovery plan.
- Additionally, departments can request customized automation tasks, such as file imports from email attachments, PDFs, and integrations with external systems like PeopleSoft.
