UCF IT Transition Team Update

Beginning 6:00 PM Friday February 10, UCF will be transitioning our Exchange email service to Office 365 (from running Exchange on campus to running it in the Microsoft cloud). All UCF email accounts will be converted to the Office 365 system throughout the weekend of February 10-12.

What can I expect?
Office 365 will provide a more robust messaging solution for the university. The physical migration of your email will require no action on your part. Just log in as usual when you return to work on Monday February 13.

What can I do to prepare for Office 365?

  1. Close your Outlook client before you leave on Friday February 10.
  2. If you have not already done so, on your mobile device email account settings change your username to nid@ucf.edu (your NID). For more information and a step-by-step guide, see: http://www.cst.ucf.edu/wp-content/uploads/pre-changing-login-id-office365-mobile.pdf.

Tips that may help you successfully log in after migration:

  1. Once your account has been migrated, Outlook initially prompts for your ID and password. Use nid@ucf.edu as the user name, with your normal NID password.
  2. Outlook Web Access will have a new URL for you to bookmark: https://outlook.com/ucf.edu
  3. Mobile device email configuration settings after the migration are:
    1. Server – outlook.office365.com
    2. Username – nid@ucf.edu
