IT Service Desk email – “Certification Task” – PLEASE DISREGARD AND TAKE NO ACTION

For anyone who has received an IT Service Desk email with a subject containing “Certification Task”, please disregard and take no action.

These emails were sent out to users who are associated with configuration items in ServiceNow (i.e. the user associated with a device in SCCM). It was discovered that a module in ServiceNow was preconfigured out of the box with a schedule to run this data validation action. The ServiceNow team was not aware the system was configured in this manner and a ticket has been opened with ServiceNow for additional insight.

Please disregard these particular emails and take no action. The ServiceNow team is working to have these tasks removed for all users impacted.
